Echelon FD - D356279 - 1:35 | Irish & French AML-60 French Light Armoured Cars in Cyprus & Lebanon Early Irish AML 60s that operated in Cyprus were in overall dark green tone, emblazoned with large UN logos. Both Irish and French operated AML armoured cars during their UN operation in Lebanon. Irish AML-90s were mostly painted overall white with "UN" markings visible on many sides. Most had the ubiquous Shamrock (green clovers) on the vehicles, available in a number of sizes. A number of French armoured cars, AML-60 & AML 90, were seen in overall white, with the larger blue "ONU" stencils painted on both sides of the vehicles while fitted with UNIFIL registration plates. The rest were seen in plain dark green, with prominent National flags placed all over the vehicles. These were also given names. (Thanks to Glen Phelan for correcting mistaken identity of some of the armoured cars) More | Military vehicle decals | Catalogue | £12.75 | ||
Echelon FD - D356285 - 1:35 | Pz.Sp.Wg.AB 41 201(i) (Part 1) AB 41 armoured car is well-known for their service under Heer and Waffen-SS units during WWII. Given it's rather intimidating, bullish appearance, coupled with camouflage paint and interesting markings, it can be a very interesting subject to model after. This set is predominantly AB 41s marked with germanic-styled names. The camouflage paint and name (some with unit symbols) combination as an interesting subject speaks for itself. Echelon FD - D356286 - 1:35 | Pz.Sp.Wg.AB 41 201(i) (Part 2) AB 41 armoured car is one of the many non-german AFVs utilised by Wehrmacht and Waffen SS in their campaigns during WWII. Given it's rather intimidating, bullish appearance, coupled with camouflage paint and interesting markings, it can be a very interesting subject to model after. This set covers one uniquely marked vehicle - with a figure head caricature of "Satan" which is placed all over the vehicle. Next comes a vehicle from an SS Police Regiment unit "Bolzano", with a stylised name across the hull front, above the vision cover. Another unit (unidentified) used predominantly card shapes, marked on the front fender and turret rear. Coupled with interesting 3 tone pattern, it would make an appealing subject. SAM Publications - MDFSD09 - No Scale | MDFSD9 Scaled Down #9 Fairchild A-10A Warthog/Thunderbolt II. The A-10 'Warthog' owed its birth to two influences - the inadequacies of the Close Air Support aircraft used in Vietnam, and the need to counter Soviet armoured might in Europe. During the Vietnam War the Air Force regarded CAS as their domain but was hard pressed to find an aircraft with both the range and loiter capacity to fulfil this need. They did obtain quantities of the old but excellent piston-powered Douglas A-1 Skyraider originally developed for the Navy, which soon earned the appreciation of the ground-pounders by its ability to carry a huge warload, dish out and take punishment, and remain on station for an extended period of time. Late in the war the USAF shifted the CAS mission to the jet-powered A-7 Corsair II, which had been developed for a US Navy requirement for a carrier-based strike fighter to replace the A-4 Skyhawk. The Corsair was an excellent aircraft, but it was designed for the strike-interdiction role, not for the battlefield CAS mission. The USAF therefore began to put together an AX - 'Attack Experimental' program to develop a dedicated CAS aircraft that could do the job far better than the Corsair, match the Skyraider in warload and endurance, but be substantially faster while being extremely maneuverable. The aircraft would also need to be highly survivable through the use of armour and redundant systems, include twin engines and be armed with a fast-firing Gatling-type gun. Squadron Signal - SQS12056 - No Scale | M2/M3 Bradley in Action series. Named for U.S. General Omar Bradley, the armoured M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle was designed to transport infantry or scouts and was possessed of sufficient firepower to suppress enemy troops and armoured vehicles. Introduced into U.S. Military service in 1981 the vehicle was built around the formidable Bushmaster 25mm chain gun mounted in the vehicle's two-man turret. The vehicle's three-man crew (commander, gunner, driver) was augmented by the ability to carry an infantry team of seven soldiers in the rear compartment protected by aluminium-alloy armoured skin. Powered by a Cummins Diesel V-8 engine, the Bradley had tremendous automotive performance as well. The M2 Bradley the original version of the vehicle was the basis for the M3, also known as a Bradley, a scout vehicle designed for the Cavalry that has the same three-man crew of the M2, but carries only two scouts in the rear compartment. Improvements and armament used on the Bradley's such as the TOW and TOW2 are also covered in the volume, whose 80 pages are packed with over 130 photos.
