1. Ki-61Ko, Akeno Fighter School, Japan 1943
2. Ki-61Ko, 2nd Chutai, 68th Sentai, New Guinea 1944
3. Ki-61Ko, Gunso Matsumi Nakano, 5th Shinten Seiku-tai, 244th Sentai, Chofu, February 1945
The first Ki-61 prototype took off in December 1941, and tests of other prototypes took place during 1942. At the end of 1942, these aircraft began to be mass-produced, and they did not reach military units until the beginning of 1943.
In the fall of the same year, the armament was strengthened, and during the war, further improvements and production of modernized modifications took place. The Ki-61 earned the respect of the Allies in battles over New Guinea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Okinawa. They formed part of Tokyo's anti-air defense armament, but they were not enough for the B-29's flying fortress. A total of 3078 pieces of machines of all versions were produced.

Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien camouflage pattern decals. These decals recreate the complex mottled camouflage seen on 244th Air Group aircraft. 5 decals are used, each covering a section: left/right wings, fuselage left/right, and antenna. Perfect for those without the time to tackle a complex paint job.
